Tyres are the only parts of your car which are in contact with the road. Safety in acceleration, braking, steering and cornering all depend on a relatively small area of road contact.
It is therefore of paramount importance that your car tyres are maintained in good condition at all times and when the time comes to change them, the correct car tyre replacements are fitted.
Van tyres take a lot of punishment; they come into contact with potholes, uneven debris-filled road surfaces and can vary from multiple short journeys to long haul.
For these reasons it is important to choose the right van tyres for your vehicle taking into account your motoring needs. Just like car tyres, van tyres require regular maintenance to ensure they remain safe and legal for the roads.
With over 5000 tyres in stock from all of the major tyre manufacturers, we are bound to have the tyre to suit your requirements and budget!

Out-of-balance tyres will cause a car to vibrate at certain speeds, usually between 50 and 70 mph.
A tyre is out of balance when one section of the tire is heavier than the others.
One ounce of imbalance on a front tire is enough to cause a noticeable vibration in the steering wheel at about 60mph.
To balance a wheel, the technician will mount it on a balancing machine which spins the wheel to locate the heavier part.
He will then compensate for the heavy part by attaching a lead weight on the opposite side of the wheel.
Many people are pleasantly surprised after having all four wheels properly balanced.
Getting Wheels Balanced
When you have your tyres fitted at ST Tyres we usually balance the wheels at the same time, we can also balance wheels by request.

Although there are no moving parts, your exhaust system is one of the hardest worked parts on the car. It is a series of pipes linking the engine to a silencer and a catalytic converter which performs the following functions;
- Controls noise
- Directs exhaust fumes away from passengers
- Improves engine performance
- Improves fuel consumption
The exhaust can be made up of the following:
- Exhaust Manifold Connection
- Catalytic Converters
- Silencer Box
- Tail Pipe
All our exhausts are ordered in per customer request so please contact us with the make and model of your car so we can give you an exact price.
A car battery usually only has a lifespan of around five years, but even relatively new ones can go wrong due to constant use of the heater, heated seats and lights.
There are signs to look out for that indicate when a battery is getting weak and may need replacing, these include a sluggish starter motor when the ignition key is turned and headlights that dim when the engine speed drops to an idle.
Also when you start the car first thing in the morning or after leaving work make sure that non-essentials like seat warmers and windscreen wipers are turned off.
There are also numerous products on the market that can help you take better care of your vehicle battery, including portable chargers, tester and even blankets.
All our batteries are ordered in per customer request so please contact us with the make and model of your car so we can give you an exact price.
In its most basic form, a wheel alignment consists of adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other.
The purpose of these adjustments is maximum tire life and a vehicle that tracks straight and true when driving along a straight and level road.
Wheel Alignment is often confused with Wheel Balancing. The two really have nothing to do with each other except for the fact that they affect ride and handling. If a wheel is out of balance, it will cause a vibration at highway speeds that can be felt in the steering wheel and/or the seat. If the alignment is out, it can cause excessive tire wear and steering or tracking problems.
